This app is being heralded as the Netflix of the fishing and adventure world. We took on the challenge of creating a robust yet easy-to-use video streaming service for countless episodes of shows such as Rex Hunt, Mark Berg’s Fishing Addiction and Hook, Line & Sinker.
The client required synchronized compatibility across desktop, iOS and Android app versions, as well as Smart TV accessibility.
The app development process began with a strategy meeting with the client to discuss their objectives for the project and devise a plan to deliver an end product that not only looked and functioned great, but met the client’s goals. Our UX designers mocked up some visual concepts for the application’s interface, liaising with the app developers to ensure optimum user experience combined with functionality.
One of the requirements was that, like other similar media streaming services, it was to be compatible across desktop via a website version, as well as the iPhone and iPad and android devices with the mobile app – for logistics the goal was to sync changes on the website and the application to eliminate the need to update and maintain two separate entities. The app and videos also needed to be quick loading and be hosted on reliable servers for maximum up time, and also offer different levels of subscriptions for members.

We configured membership and user accounts with different levels of access, categorised videos into show and season so users can efficiently find what they are looking for, and linked the media library to Amazon cloud hosting for quick and reliable streaming, among other features. Importantly, the app was configured to sync seamlessly with the website version, streamlining management of both the app and the site.
